Responsible Gambling

At 88 Fortunes Guide AU, we believe that gambling should always be a form of entertainment — never a source of stress, financial hardship, or harm. We are committed to promoting responsible gambling practices across all our content.

Know the Risks

All forms of gambling carry inherent risk. House edge, volatility, and the random nature of outcomes mean no strategy can guarantee a profit over time. Key facts to understand before playing:

  • The casino always maintains a mathematical advantage (house edge) over the long run
  • RTP figures are theoretical averages across millions of spins — not session-level guarantees
  • Chasing losses almost always results in greater losses
  • Gambling should never be used as a method to solve financial problems
  • Alcohol and emotional distress significantly impair decision-making while gambling

Signs of Problem Gambling

You or someone close to you may have a problem with gambling if you notice:

  • Spending more money or time gambling than intended
  • Feeling the need to gamble with increasing amounts to feel excitement
  • Becoming restless or irritable when not gambling
  • Gambling to escape problems or relieve negative feelings
  • Lying to family or friends about gambling activities
  • Jeopardising work, relationships, or finances because of gambling

Responsible Gambling Tools

Licensed Australian online casinos are required to offer a range of player protection tools. If you are a registered player, make use of these features:

  • Deposit Limits: Set daily, weekly, or monthly caps on how much you can deposit
  • Session Time Limits: Receive reminders or automatic logouts after a set period of play
  • Reality Checks: Pop-up notifications showing how long you have been playing and your net position
  • Self-Exclusion: Temporarily or permanently block yourself from a casino platform
  • Cool-Off Periods: Take a break of 24 hours, 7 days, or longer
